Today’s economic times can be challenging for many small to mid cap companies because a lot of companies are downsizing or lowering their overheads. Therefore less money is being put into marketing firms and making the search for marketing jobs that much more difficult.

The next best alternative would be to start your own marketing consulting business. The problem is that there is a huge overhead in starting up an office, large monthly operating expenses and you still have to find the clients and contracts to keep your business afloat. Again, you run into the problem of other marketing firms who are very hungry in keeping and attaining new clients.

My suggestion is to learn how to market your own products without having to take the huge financial risks of having a storefront. That is why I advocate network or internet marketing so much because there is a small financial risk involved yet you still can make more money than a typical marketing job or even more cash then owning your own marketing firm.

Finally, there are also huge tax advantages of owning your own network marketing or internet marketing businesses because you are now self employed and are entitled to writing off your expenses off your income tax. The tax savings alone can even surpass the initial start up cost of a network marketing business which makes business sense to take action!
